Beautiful forest finn handicraft

The Norwegian Forest Finn Museum received this wonderful gift from Yngve Moen this winter. It is a very large leather case made by his father Ola Moen, who lived in Svullrya. With a height of 65 cm, a width of 45 cm and a depth of 25 cm, it is probably one of the larger ones in the museum's collection. It is also in good condition, with the straps intact. It was used, among other things, to carry berries from the forest. There was also a pair of children's-sized leather shoes in the case, probably made by Ola's father, Olaf. Yngve Moen has previously given a Gottlund Bible to the museum.

Moen is an abbreviation of Peistorpmoen.

Gifts with a story attached to them increase the value of the museum artefact. It is important that the museum receives as much information as possible that can be linked to the object.
